Switzerland

Whew, it’s been a month since I written anything. Been busy with some of my work lately, and I wish to quickly cover the Europe Trip stories. It’s been a year already since Liverpool, imagine my juniors are having their Summer Course now already! I got to cover the stories at least before they end their courses.

Switzerland, the impression I got is it’s a country with a lot of mountain terrain and hilly areas. And for the first time ever, I get to experience snow, real snow that is. Not just some man made snow in Genting Snow House. Up to Mount Titlis of Switzerland, where it snows all year long, be it winter or not.

To get to the top, we had to change a couple of cable cars. I can’t remember how many of them already. But there is one big rotary one that brought the whole group up in our final station.

It was -10 degrees Celsius out there. I had my gloves and jacket, but no hood or ear muffs.

Just 5 minutes outside, my ears are freezing and I can’t stand it. Plus, I need to look out for my camera so it does not freeze up, let alone playing with the snow. Unlike these guys down here.

Then, there’s this ice cave to visit. Apparently, there this National Anthem Song Machine on not far from the ice cave entrace. These fellas keep pressing the Malaysian flag switch to play “Negaraku”.

We were totally laughing like mad people, and singing out our national anthem. Sick.

If you must know, the living cost in Switzerland is out of the highest in Europe. Plus, since we are in a “tourist” spot, eating here cost a bomb. 10 Euros for a simple meal, whoop!

Later that afternoon, we headed down to Lucerne. There’s this famous Lion Monument in Lucerne, that serves as a memorial towards the Swiss soldiers that was killed while protecting the Royal Family of France.

Next is shopping time, as you all might know Switzerland is famous for their watches. Rolex, Swatch, Tissot, etc. I bought some stuff myself that is well know in Switzerland, a Swatch watch, a Swiss camping knife and some chocolates.
