Germany Day 1

Today, it’s off to cross the border towards Germany, right after our breakfast. The first town we headed is Cologne (German: Köln), where there’s this great cathedral, Cologne Cathedral (German: Kölner Dom).

Right around the city, there’s a lot of shopping centre. Not to mention we found this unique shop that sell weapons. Not really sure if they are real or just replicas, but then I believe even replicas can do damage with rubber bullets.

Bought some lunch over here, before heading towards Loreley.

Loreley
Rhine river

Loreley is suppose to be a rock on the easthern bank of Rhine river (which is one of the longest river in Europe). There’s a lot of myth saying there’s beautiful water maidens, called Sirens luring the sailors that pass by the river with their seductive songs (and body perhaps), then end up killing them. Yaiks!!!

Of course in scientific point of view, the boat accidents are probably caused due to the high water current in this area.

Okay with this restaurant named, Panorama restaurant in front of the Loreley Rock, you can’t leave here without a panorama shot, would you?

Next, we are off to Heidelberg, a city filled with exotic structure (that is for me at least). Heidelberg suppose to be a student city, and it’s Heidelberg University is the oldest university in Germany.

There’s this old castle ruins on the hill top, that really get us exercised. Can’t remember how many steps are there, but it reminds me of Batu Caves. But when you are up there, the feeling is incredible as you can see the whole town from above.

It is unfortunate at that time, the castle was closed at the moment. By the time is opened, it was almost time for us to have our dinner. Right as we get back down to the town area, we went along the old Heidelberg bridge.
