Earth Hour
Yesterday, 8.30 till 9.30pm was Earth Hour. I do have some thoughts about it. It’s a good event organized by the WWF to bring the message to the people to conserve energy, and do their part in saving earth.
But ironically, people treat it as some kind of celebration. Sad to say, although many people turn off their unnecessary lights, and go out instead yesterday night which in turn help to conserve the electricity. They go out and burn fuel energy instead. Talk about irony.
I and a couple of friends turn out “wasting energy” as well. Yesterday, we went up to Ampang Hill, known for the city view of Kuala Lumpur. Turns out there’s a major traffic jam over there. Didn’t get to see the KL Tower and KLCC turn off their office lights, but get there soon enough before 9.30pm.
Actually been wanting to take the night scene of Kuala Lumpur for sometime. Just that I went there at the wrong time, plus the weather was pretty hazy as well.
Let’s just not turn off unnecessary lights just because of Earth Hour. We should start saving electricity as well at normal days.
