Sites Up and Running

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Just in time, I get my sites up and running. Still there’s a couple of thing missing in my main site though(like my portfolio and a more detailed contact information), might want to update it when I return instead.

Anyway, these are the site logos, which are my main site, blog and gallery.

My FYP Role

Friday, December 21st, 2007

My FYP (Final Year Project) consists of a group of four. All of our tasks are interconnected, yet we can work almost independently, thanks to Object Oriented Programming approach. The reason I bring up this post is that, many people misunderstand my role or task in my FYP, many thought that my job is just doing the interface design.

Envy of my role or my taks? Don’t think just yet, it’s more than what you think, because most of the things are from the inside. So here I am clarifying things.

First of all, you might want to refer to a previous post I wrote, to get an idea what my FYP is all about. Overall my task is to handle the Graphics Engine and the Sound Engine (Which is added later). Read more…

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Been busy with the whole week, first is Drama presentation. Next stuff, is my college annual ProDEx (Project Design Exhibition). My teammates and I had to present our Final Year Project. Sure it was hectic, but it sure was rewarding.

The project that my team and I are working on, is an application that provides a visualization environment for learning programming. To put it simple, it is a 2D game, but instead of using keyboard directional keys or mouse to control the Hero/Warrior, we need to use programming to program the Hero. We called our project as STEPHY, that simply means Simply To Encourage Programming Habit Yourself. Read more…

Nokia 6111 Phone Housing Replacement

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

Recently, I just bought a Nokia 6111 sliding phone for my mom. Although it only has around 20MB of space and no support for memory cards, it is basically what I think my mom would ever need. The small factor, decent camera quality and the style is pretty much designed for a lady user. It is a second hand phone (since I cannot afford to buy a new one), therefore the cosmetic appearance of the phone is pretty washed out.

The circled areas in the pictures above areas which have nasty scratches on them. The paint is pretty much done below the keypad area and the back cover. I wouldn’t want to break a phone without knowing how to properly disassemble it, so I googled around to see some guides on taking apart the phone, to make sure I am able to replace it myself before ordering a full replacement housing for it. Laptop Paintjob

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

My laptop is getting old and paint starts chipping off, making it looks bad in shape. At first, I only spray paint the top lid of the laptop, as it gets a lot of terrible scratches right after a year I’ve owned it. Now after more than two years, almost every part of the laptop get nasty scratches. So this time, it’s gonna be a major makeover.

I have to start off by taking the laptop apart, even having hard time opening the screws. The main reason is because the screws’ quality are so bad, some got stuck inside that I was not able to take it out with the screwdriver. So, some stuck screws have to be taken out by force using plier or using a drill (yea, a power drill, don’t try this at home). Read more…
