Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Just a few days ago, I get the privilege to try out the Apple iPhone that is on the hype. A lot of people are talking about it, and most of them wanted to owned it. Before I see the actual device, I was rather sarcastic about the iPhone not being able to support 3G and having no MMS capability on it, after all I am a person that focus a lot on device specification. But after I seen and tryout on the real thing for a while, I finally get it why people are getting crazy all over it.

Ubuntu Visual Effects with Beryl

Friday, July 27th, 2007

I just tried installing Beryl plugin into Ubuntu(Linux) recently. Beryl plugin is actually a window manager that controls all the desktop effects animation and the visual of the desktop screen. You might heard that Ubuntu or Linux can actually have those visual effects just like the new Windows Vista. Looks just like Vista semi-transparent Aero window

Frankly, I’ve tried installing Windows Vista in my good old notebook, and I wasn’t able to get those Windows Aero effects, not to mention that it can’t even run the Flip 3D feature in Vista.
